Adult & Child Medical Care

The doctor who sees you has gone through an extensive medical training to equip her or him to help children and adults of all ages with a range of physical and emotional difficulties. GPs are at the centre of the healthcare hub and will be aware of services and expertise that are available locally and further-a-field. GPs are also aware of the link that stress and unhappy life events have on physical health so know when to suggest a talking therapy rather than medication.

Our services include

  • routine wellness checks at any time, but we especially recommend a review at age 45y and 65y.

  • driving, employment and insurance medical assessments.

  • appropriate referrals to other health professionals, including specialist doctors.

Minor Surgery

Minor surgery is commonly provided in primary care practices, providing fast, competent removal and biopsies of skin lesions. Other services include cosmetic work such as removal of benign moles and skin tags.

If your doctor is unable to provide the procedure you need, he/she will be able to refer you to a specialist who can help.

Travel Advice & Immunisations

Have you scheduled a visit? Ideally make an appointment for a clinic visit 6-8 weeks before your trip. Most vaccines take time to become effective in your body and some vaccines must be given in a series over a period of weeks or sometimes months.

We recommend filling in the travel questionnaire and sending it back to us before your appointment so your doctor can check the most up to date requirements for your upcoming adventures.

Yellow fever vaccinations are only available at approved centres; please click here to view the centres in the Auckland region.

Repeat Prescriptions

Patients who are well-known to the practice who have a stable condition like asthma, hypertension or diabetes could be allowed to get a repeat prescription for up to three months, or 6 months for oral contraceptives.

Repeat prescriptions are never given to patients who are not known to the practice and there is a blanket ban on repeats for narcotics and other drugs that could be misused as doctors are expected to monitor these drugs carefully.

You can request repeat prescriptions by phoning the practice, or by using the online portal. Please allow up to 3 working days for this request to be processed. Repeat prescriptions that are posted out to you or are required on the same day (urgent) will incur a $5 surcharge, please ask our receptionist to confirm the cost.

Lab Results

Most results come back within 48 hours unless a very rare test is needed which has to go to a specialist lab further away when it might take a little longer. Results will be checked by the requesting doctor and you will be contacted if any change in management is required. PLEASE ENSURE WE HAVE YOUR CURRENT CONTACT DETAILS.
